“We are the landscape, we are where we belong.”
Lihong Bai(weeds), 白莉鸿, b.1999, born in Inner Mongolia, China. base London.
Grounded in fifteen years of traditional Taoist-influenced ink practice, Lihong Bai deconstructs the 'static idyll' through the lens of what Foucault called heterotopia, spaces that exist in contrast or tension with the ordinary, much like a secret garden or an attic filled with forgotten memories. Going beyond performance, Painting, and moving image, her work moves beyond the image to create material encounters where body, landscape, and institutional memory collide.
